Live Event Production
Jonathan and many of his crew have had their first paying gigs in live event production. While JBP offers much more, this will always be a part of who we are and what we offer. Live Events are an irreplaceable draw to the human spirit. Every live event is unique, even when rehearsed and scripted. We strive to help our clients deliver the best live experience possible by bringing designers, technicians, mentors, planners, and managers to the table. We also have a ton of gear to make this easy from Radios and Wireless Intercom to Moving Lights and Mixers. If we don’t have it, chances are we have a relationship with someone who is willing to rent it out.
Standard Services
Lighting
Lighting is critical to all live events. We can help use your lighting system, bolster your lighting system, or set up something totally portable in a found space or rented venue. Each event type has different lighting requirements to make sure that it is successful and beautiful!
Audio
When the audio is good, people barely notice. When the audio is bad, EVERYONE notices. We help our customers use the correct microphones, wireless frequencies, and digital mixers to ensure the highest quality sound available using the resources and budget you have.
Video Playback & Image Magnification
Some events use prerecorded videos and animated slides to emphasize lectures. Video sets and backgrounds are becoming very popular for musicals and plays. Large crowds are often served by IMAG or Image Magnification so that even the folks in the back can see the action. Let us help design, control, and deliver your live video!
Scenic Design & Acquisition
Some projects need mobile stages and pipe & drape. Others need classy corporate furniture and podiums. We can help you find, rent, transport, and return these items for your event.
Musicals, plays, and TED talks can call for an entire set. We have folks who can help design, draft, build, paint, move, and assemble these scenic elements.
Stage & Production Management
Every event requires preplanning. Maybe you have an audio person that you love but are onboarding new scenic and lighting designers. We can help smooth the collaboration and planning process to make sure your show is a success.
We can also manage all of those moving parts when the event hits the venue. We can coordinate all departments, help call the shots, keep the project on schedule, and organize your vendors to ensure the event runs smoothly.
Drafting & Advancing
Some events just need some remote support. Perhaps you have sketches that need to be drafted in AutoCAD or you need to have the flexible seating drawn out so that you know how many people you can fit while following fire & egress codes. We can help draw up the game plan so that you can hit the venue running!
We also help work up advance paperwork: lighting design intent, audio requirements, stage plots, rental budgets, and more. A well-planned event is a smooth event. We can even help run your production meetings and turn over notes to your team after each one.
Types of Clients We Work With
Corporate
Corporate events is a huge category. This can include tradeshow AV, galas, fundraisers, TED talks, sporting events, press conferences, fashion shows, large meetings, and so much more. We can help ensure that your event is smooth, engaging, and focused on what matters to your orginization.
Performing Arts
From concerts to plays, classical to EDM, and every ballet in between our hearts are closely tied to the performing arts. We can help small companies and artists produce at a professional level without the cost of a full-time production team. We can also supplement your show with a single person or entire departments.
K12 & Higher Education
Educators often need support with complex events or complex venues. We specialize in helping highschool and college (non-major) programs develop an enriching theatre program. We are happy to help organize your faculty, volunteers, and students into a performing arts powerhouse. In this role, it is about mentoring students and faculty, not doing all of the work for you. That said, we are here when you need work done on a scaffold, lift, or catwalk that students and faculty may not be qualified to work from safely.
